Kate Klotz

Boulder Children’s Chorale Artistic Director, Piccolini and Prima Voce Director

Kate Klotz has served as the Artistic Director of the Boulder Children’s Chorale since 2014.  In her tenure as Artistic Director, the Children’s Chorale has grown to four choirs serving nearly 100 singers each year.  Mrs. Klotz is a frequent guest conductor, presenter, and choral clinician and has been featured at the Colorado and Texas Music Educators Conferences, American Choral Directors Conference, and many local and regional workshops and conferences. She teaches elementary music and choir in the Boulder Valley School District and is also on the teaching staff for the Aspen Music Festival and School. In 2018, Mrs. Klotz founded the Boulder Valley All-District Elementary Choir.

Mrs. Klotz holds a Master of Music degree from Colorado State University and received her undergraduate degree in music education from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She holds all three levels of Kodály certification and has completed Orff Schulwerk training.  From 2011 to 2013, Mrs. Klotz served on the artistic staff of the Spokane Area Youth Choirs in Spokane, Washington. She currently serves as the Children’s Choirs Repertoire and Resources Chair for the Colorado Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association. Mrs. Klotz has performed with the Cantabile Singers, the Colorado Conductors Chorale, and the Spokane Symphony Chorale.
