1. Why are uniforms important?

Choir uniforms demonstrate that the members of the group are a team. They also show our seriousness about performance and professionalism. Additionally, they help the audience concentrate on the music rather than individuals in the group.
It is important that hairstyles and accessories do not distract from the singing or from the uniform. The idea is for all members to look as similar as possible on stage. Avoid jewelry, shoes and hair accessories that will draw attention to individuals instead of the group. Also, remember that students may be standing for a long while in dress shoes. Comfort is a factor. Each member is expected to obtain and wear to all performances the standard attire of the chorus.
Because of the cost, and because children grow, we will have an exchange closet every summer where parents can sell and buy gently used uniform pieces in appropriate sizes.

2. Why did we choose Lands’ End Uniforms for Boulder Children’s Chorale?

Lands’ End is a well-established company that has been producing school uniforms since 1996. Lands’ End offers quality, durable, washable materials that look great on stage. We want parents to invest in garments that will last and last. Lands’ End will replace any garment that does not function as it should. They also give a percentage of net sales sold to our group back to the organization. It’s nice for parents to have the option of one-stop shopping for uniforms!

3. How do we order uniforms?

You may order online at www.landsend.com or by calling the company at 1-800-963-4816.

To make sure that Boulder Children’s Chorale receives money back from the company on your purchases, please enter the preferred school code when ordering.
Each parent should order individually. Some items must be purchased at Lands’ End, while other items may be purchased where you choose. Please order items as soon as possible to ensure they arrive by our first concert. Occasionally, items may be back-ordered.

Uniform for Preparatory Choir 1 & 2 - Girls

Logo cost for all shirts: $5.50

Black opaque tights (not sheer hose)
Black dress shoes
Girls may opt for black dress pants instead of the skirt.

*Expectations for white shirts not purchased through Lands’ End
Long sleeves (not three-quarter sleeves or short sleeves)
Plain white, not off-white
No textured or patterned fabric
No sheer fabric
No puffy sleeves
Button-down collar
Oxford style
No logo on garment

*Expectations for black pants not purchased through Lands’ End
Must be dress pants
Black, not faded black, gray, or navy blue
No denim
No cargo pants
Well-fitted and appropriate length
Pleats, no pleats; flip hem, no flip hem; your option.


Additional expectations
Garments should be clean and wrinkle-free for performance. Garments should fit properly and should not be faded. Student will not be permitted to wear accessories, including hair accessories for performance. Garments should be worn appropriately. Pants should be worn at the waist. The only items that should have the Boulder Children’s Chorale logo are the polo shirt and the vest. No additional logos or monograms should be used on any garment.
