Margaret Scharff

Boulder Children’s Chorale Piccolini and Prima Voce Pianist

With the enthusiastic support of her family, Margaret began studying piano at age five.
Throughout high school, she studied piano, played violin and cello in youth orchestras, and
sang in choirs. She later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from the University
of Colorado at Boulder College of Music in 1998, and a Master’s degree in Piano Performance
in 2002. After her education, Margaret began teaching private students, as well as
accompanying choirs and church services. She has worked for three Unitarian Universalist
churches, and is currently an accompanist at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Boulder.
She has accompanied community choirs, such as the Arvada Chorale and the Boulder Messiah
Chorale. Besides studying piano, Margaret has also conducted choirs, studied organ, and
performed in piano trios for two summers at the Yellow Barn Chamber Music Festival in
Vermont.
