A recital to Benefit the Boulder Chorale
Featuring mezzo-soprano Laurel Styner, Susan Olenwine, piano; Larisa Dreger, flute and soprano; and Neil Dreger, upright and electric basses.
Laurel sang a recital for the Chorale in 2018 and is delighted to be returning. She and Susan Olenwine will perform works of Brahms, Schubert, Puccini and Duparc.
The dynamic duo of Larisa and Neil will perform Une Bouche Aimee with Susan Olenwine, and duets of Ave Maria and Dream A Little Dream. Larisa is the Assistant Conductor for our Adult Chorale and Co-Artistic Director for our Children’s Chorale.
Laurel Styner holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance from Willamette University and is currently working towards a Master of Music degree in Voice Performance at Carnegie Mellon University. Her varied vocal repertory includes, opera, art song, musical theater, contemporary pop, and jazz. She has been featured in performances of Rodgers’ and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, Pasatieri’s The Hotel Casablanca, and Verdi’s MacBeth. She previously presented a recital to benefit the Boulder Chorale in 2018 and is delighted to be returning to Colorado.
Susan Olenwine earned both bachelor and master degrees in piano performance at Manhattan School of Music where she studied with Constance Keene and Artur Balsam. She had additional studies with Samuel Sanders at the Juilliard School. She holds a Master of Music in Collaborative Piano from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
This event will include a silent, blind auction of some choice bottles of wine and delicious chocolate. Please bring cash or checks for your bids before the concert or during intermission.
