Mahler Symphony No. 2 with MahlerFest
May 21 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Symphony No. 2 “Resurrection” in C minor by Gustav Mahler, was first performed in 1895. It was one of Mahler’s most popular and successful works during his lifetime.
On the final pages of his epic Second Symphony, the choir triumphantly sing “Rise again! You shall rise again!”
In this large work, Mahler further developed the creativity of “sound of the distance” and created a “world of its own,” aspects seen in his First Symphony. Put Mahler in the category of George Lucas, Richard Wagner, and George R.R. Martin as one of the great “world builders” of the arts!
The Boulder Concert Chorale is pleased to continue our collaboration with MahlerFest to present this sublime choral masterpiece at Macky Auditorium.
